Privacy Policy
Effective July 17, 2026 · Last updated July 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Artist Tool ("the App", "we", "us") handles information. The App is published by Harold Hersey ("the Developer"). Questions? Contact haroldhhersey@gmail.com.
1. Information the App itself collects
None that leaves your device. The App has no user accounts, no login, and no analytics or crash‑reporting SDKs. Specifically:
- Your images and creations — photos you import or capture, value studies, crops, straightened images, color palettes, and wall mockups are processed entirely on your device and stored only in the App's local storage. They are never transmitted to us or any third party.
- Camera — used only to let you photograph your work or references. Captured images are handled on‑device; we do not receive them.
- Photo Library — used only to import images you choose and to save results you ask the App to save. We do not scan or upload your library.
- File timestamps — the App reads the modification dates of files it created in its own storage container to sort your recent items newest‑first. This never leaves the device.
We, the Developer, therefore do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information about you.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Until you purchase "Remove Ads," the App displays a banner advertisement served by Google AdMob, operated by Google LLC. To serve ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process certain information on Google's behalf, such as:
- Device and ad identifiers, and coarse location derived from IP address;
- General usage and interaction data with the ad;
- Diagnostic and performance information.
The App requests non‑personalized ads only. Non‑personalized ads use contextual information rather than a profile of your interests, but Google may still process limited data (including for frequency capping, aggregate reporting, and fraud prevention) as described in Google's policies.
- Google's Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from apps that use its services
- AdMob data disclosure
We do not control and are not responsible for Google's data practices. Your use of the ad‑supported version of the App is subject to Google's policies in addition to this one.
Removing ads: A one‑time in‑app purchase ("Remove Ads") permanently hides the banner. Once purchased, the ad SDK no longer requests ads.
3. Purchases
"Remove Ads" is a one‑time, non‑consumable in‑app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment and billing are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; we do not receive your name, payment card, or billing details. Apple provides us only anonymous, aggregate sales information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Children
The App is a general‑audience creativity tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). Because ads are non‑personalized and the App collects no personal data itself, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the ad service, contact us and we will help you address it with Google.
5. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA and similar)
Because we do not collect personal data, we hold nothing to access, correct, or delete on our side. Any data processed for advertising is handled by Google as an independent controller/processor; you can exercise rights and manage ad settings through Google at adssettings.google.com and Google's privacy policy above.
- EEA/UK users: The App presents a consent choice for advertising before any ad identifiers are used, via Google's User Messaging Platform (consent management). You can change your choice at any time using the "Manage Privacy Choices" option shown in the app (on the Home footer and the Remove Ads screen).
- California users: We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You have the right to know and delete; contact us to exercise it.
6. Data retention and security
Everything the App creates stays in the App's local storage on your device and is removed when you delete the item or uninstall the App. We hold no copy because we never receive it.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, noted in the App.
